Biography of Prof Azad

  • I was a teacher at NIPSOM, the first-ever national public focal postgraduate institution, which exposed me to a broader perspective of health beyond the clinical domains and to see clinical medicine through a public health lens.
  • I studied all branches of public health and gained 360-degree views and skills of public health, which significantly shaped my choice of future health careers, devotions, and contributions.
  • I served as Managing Editor for 4.5 years of JOPSOM (Journal of Public Health and Social Medicine).
  • I opened the country’s first MPH nutrition course, the curriculum of which, I developed at the University of Cambridge, UK utilizing also the idea of a public health nutrition course from Cornell University, USA.
